Corn Gleaning December 2008

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Wellington Ward
Gleaning The Corn Fields
in Belle Glade, Florida
December 20, 2008
This is part of the group in front of The Wellington Chapel prior to our departure for Belle Glade. Once we were gathered in one spot, there were over 100 Wellington Ward Members gleaning corn under the direction of CROS Ministries.
Click HERE to see more photos. This is a link to my Facebook account where there are THREE Corn Cleaning Albums. Make sure you enjoy all three. Thanks to those who shared photos and to those who arranged this meaningful Christmas Activity.
Working in The Corn Fields was Christmas in Action. Truly, Christmas cannot be found in the store, yet in a Corn Field in Belle Glade.
We Gleaned over 13,000 pounds in a few short hours. The Fresh Corn was donated to a local Food Bank and enjoyed by needy individuals over the Christmas Holiday.
